Mesmerized by the illusion
that reality I held dear
that trust I had in ancient pages
that had me in submission out of fear

it talked about false prophets
yet never gave me the truth
and in my hand I held the moon
and it’s light set me free

countless are where I once were
and if I could free them all
and give them the gift of choice
there will be so much peace

but so enslaved they are
clinging to blood so needlessly spent
thinking that to drown their sins they will see the light
but the never ending tunnel is closing in

countless are where I once were
but they still see a mount of skulls
and in my hand I held the moon
and in that light I wish them free
