I could have been something
but I am glad I never became
I could have been a clone
in some god’s social experiment

I am no dolly, I don’t even count sheep
when I go to sleep

I could have been something
spoon fed by the media
or in some anti-halaal cult
because of the oil monopoly game

I am no disciple of paranoid policies
doomsday is not my play

I could have been something
led by someone else’s belief
I could have been a terrorist
but bombs are not my fashion-scene

my death is my own
I will take no-one with me

I could have been something
but I am me
could have been a slave
but that is your fantasy

we are all social fuck-ups in the end
but we can choose
we can all wear a fucking label
but being me is the only brand that fits me

This poem deals with a lot of conspiracy theories and misconceptions created by the media.
Interpret it as you will. Choose your own guru.
I choose myself.

Please note: the word ‘dolly’ refers to the sheep. The first cloned sheep.

p.s. inspired by ‘Suck’ and ‘Only’ by the band Nine Inch Nails
